Alternative Audio Software to Online Audio Cutter

I've been using Online Audio Cutter for a few months now, primarily for basic audio trimming and format conversions. It's been perfectly adequate for simple tasks, but I'm starting to feel like I'm hitting its limitations. I'm now wanting to perform more complex audio editing tasks, such as multi-track editing, noise reduction, advanced EQ and compression, and adding various effects. Online Audio Cutter https://audiocutter.online/ doesn't seem to offer these features, so I'm starting to explore alternative audio software. I'm not sure whether I should stick with online tools or invest in a desktop application. What are the key advantages and disadvantages of each approach? Are there any online audio editors that offer a more comprehensive set of features than Online Audio Cutter, or am I better off biting the bullet and purchasing a dedicated desktop DAW? If I do go the desktop route, what are some good options for beginners that are relatively easy to learn but still offer a decent amount of power and flexibility? I'm also concerned about the cost. I don't want to spend a fortune on audio software, especially if I'm not sure how much I'll actually use it. Are there any free or low-cost alternatives that are worth considering? Online Audio Cutter is free but what if I want more?
